Langhe Nebbiolo "No Name"
The Nebbiolo “No Name” by Borgogno is a Piedmontese red that combines structure with finesse, in a balanced and harmonious overall sip.
Nebbiolo, a reference grape variety for Piedmontese viticulture, expresses itself with a classic and varietal profile, perfect to drink at the table especially with red meats such as roasts, skewers and grilled preparations and with game. A label that fully deserves its rightful space in the cellar of all red wine enthusiasts from Northern Italy.
This Borgogno “No Name” is a pure Nebbiolo that comes from those vineyards located near the municipality of Barolo, exposed to the south, south-east and south-west. The terroir in these areas is composed of a marly, calcareous and clayey subsoil. The must obtained from pressing the grapes begins fermentation spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts for about 2 weeks, then macerating for another 10-20 days. We then proceed with the final refinement, in which the wine rests for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. At the end of maturation, the wine is ready to be bottled and placed on the market.
The Nebbiolo “No Name” Borgogno develops to the eye with a ruby red color, with a beautiful brightness and some reflections slightly more tending towards garnet. The profile of aromas on the nose is broad and diversified, where the classic notes of violets and small red berries are perceived, as well as slight references to aromatic herbs. When tasted, it has a concentrated body, with a sip that releases freshness and flavor through a fine drink, in which the tannin appears to be well integrated into the general structure. The “No Name” is thus named by Borgogno to make us reflect on the excess of bureaucracy that afflicts the world of wine and agriculture in Italy.
