Il borgo di Castelgiocondo domina dall'alto la storica tenuta dei Frescobaldi a Montalcino, un'antica roccaforte costruita nel 1100 a difesa della via che dal mare portava a Siena. Un luogo storico, si tratta infatti di una delle prime quattro proprietà in cui nel 1800 iniziò la produzione del Brunello di Montalcino.
La Tenuta si trova in un terroir ideale per il sangiovese e per i grandi vini che qui si producono: i vigneti dimorano ad altezze tra i 300 e i 400 metri, i suoli ben drenanti hanno la soleggiata e favorevole esposizione a sud-ovest. In vigna cura maniacale, alte densità e basse rese, permettono di produrre un grande Brunello, dalla stoffa elegante e dalla longevità mirabile.
Il Castelgiocondo è Brunello di Montalcino che nasce da una rigorosissima selezione di sole uve sangiovese nel vigneto, dove si rispettano scrupolosamente tutte le caratteristiche necessarie ad esaltare questa antico vitigno. Nasce così, dopo una lenta maturazione sia in barrique che in botte grande, un vino di grande struttura, elegante, equilibrato, con profumi intensi e grande finezza.
