High Lands - Livio Felluga
The white Terre Alte by Livio Felluga is an exceptional wine, award-winning and praised by critics, both Italian and international. It is in fact one of the few white wines known throughout the world, and is now considered a flag, not only of the winery, but of all of Friuli. Its softness, its intense flavor and its complex and nuanced aromas conquer from the first moments. A bottle that certainly deserves more than one taste.
Terre Alte is a Friulian wine that comes from a skilful blend where we find Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco and Friulano. Three vines that grow with their roots in a marly territory rich in sandstone, of Eocene origin. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and macerated for a short period. Then we proceed with a light pressing, and Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon ferment at a controlled temperature in steel tanks, while the Friulano ferments alcoholicly in small French oak barrels. This difference continues even after vinification, during the refinement phase, which lasts, both in wood and in steel, for 10 months.
The Terre Alte Livio Felluga wine appears upon visual examination with a decidedly intense straw yellow color. The range of aromas that develops on the nose is rich and layered, where Mediterranean scrub, fruit, flowers and spices dance in a perfectly orchestrated olfactory symphony. It is extremely pleasant to taste, with a sip characterized by a savory texture that encourages drinking; ends with a lingering ending. A label where quality reaches truly important peaks, confirming Livio Felluga as one of the reference producers not only in Friuli Venezia Giulia, but throughout Italy.
