The red Aglianico 'Serpico' is a wine with character and personality, which well embodies what is expected of this grape variety widely grown in southern Italy. A wine deep and full as expected, characterised by a neat and varied range of aromas. A bottle of excellent workmanship, which transports us sip by sip to the Irpinia region of Campania, the terroir where the Aglianico vines from which the Feudi di San Gregorio winery produces this label are found. A product to be reserved for those dinners where red meat and game are the protagonists of the dishes.
Aglianico 'Serpico' is a wine that the Feudi di San Gregorio winery makes from the pure grapes of an indigenous red grape variety from Campania, Aglianico. The grapes, carefully selected to guarantee only the best of the terroir of origin in the glass, ferment alcoholically in stainless steel tanks, macerating for a period of between three and four weeks. After vinification we proceed with ageing, which takes place for at least 18 months in French oak barrels and casks of medium toasting with a capacity of 50 hectolitres. At the end of this period, the wine is ready to be bottled.
The 'Serpico' is a Feudi di San Gregorio signature Aglianico that, on visual inspection, is a bright, intense ruby red. Complex olfactory profilewhich combines fruity sensations with deeper notes, where sweet spices and balsamic herbs reign supreme. The taste is full-bodied, warm, rich and full thanks to a sip where the tannins are finely integrated into the overall structure. A label with which the Feudi di San Gregorio winery wants to redefine the boundaries of Aglianico, raising it to very interesting levels of quality.
