The Chardonnay “Cardellino” is an Elena Walch classic: a soft, intense and quite complex white wine, aged on the fine lees in steel and, to a small extent, in barrique.
It has aromas of ripe yellow fruit, honey, and sweet spices. The palate is rounded, enveloping, fresh, minerally, and persistent.

Lo Chardonnay “Cardellino” è un vino equilibrato e immediatamente comprensibile grazie a una personalità centrata e puntuale..
Il naso è un gioco complesso di aromi stratificati, dove è facile avere imput differenti, dal fruttato allo speziato, mentre al palato freschezza e mineralità sono i protagonisti di un sorso raffinato e lungo. Una bottiglia che è uno dei grandi classici presentati da Elena Walch e che certifica la bravura della cantina nel trattare l’uva di partenza in purezza, esaltandone gli aspetti salienti e più peculiari. Versatile in cucina, accompagna sia preparazioni a base di pesce che di carni bianche.
Questo “Cardellino” Chardonnay nasce da quei vigneti di proprietà della cantina situati in posizione collinare, a circa 400 metri sul livello del mare. Gli acini vengono pressati sofficemente e il mosto ottenuto effettua una decantazione statica. La successiva fermentazione avviene a temperatura controllata sia in acciaio che, per il 15% della massa totale, in barrique. Questo “sdoppiamento” viene mantenuto anche nella seguente fase di maturazione, in cui i riposa per un totale di 5 mesi.
Il “Cardellino” è uno Chardonnay che alla vista si annuncia con un colore giallo paglierino, di bella intensità cromatica. Ampio e variegato il naso, che offre una serie di profumi diversi fra loro ma finemente integrati, come frutta esotica, tocchi speziati e accenni al miele. All’assaggio è di corpo leggero, vivace, con un sorso caratterizzato da un’anima fresca e sapida, che contribuisce a rendere il finale persistente. Un’etichetta dal profilo delicato, con cui la cantina Elena Walch interpreta senza alcuna sbavatura uno dei vitigni internazionali più coltivati al mondo.
