Franciacorta Brut "Milledi"
Ferghettina
The Milledì Ferghettina was born from the company's need to produce a vintage Brut, strongly characterized from the point of view of the unmistakable Franciacorta style. Clear in its floral hints on the nose and mineral hints on the palate, Milledì brings about a typological revolution, given by the choice of using a square-section bottle, not for aesthetic purposes but for precise technological purposes.
The starting idea was to improve the performances of the refermentation in the bottle, allowing the yeasts to work at their best in order to further characterize, from an aromatic point of view, this product of the Franciacorta terroir. After a careful study conducted by Roberto Gatti, owner of the company, together with his son Matteo, it was decided to bottle the Milledì in this new form of container which, thanks to its flat side at the base, would allow the yeasts to arrange themselves on a much larger surface area than the cylindrical bottom of a classic bottle and to proceed with a much more efficient refermentation from a qualitative point of view (with a greater production of mannoproteins, essential for the aromatic developments of the wines obtained with the Classic Method).
For this reason, Milledì is a product which, in the wake of the traditional style of Feghettina, unfolds substantial innovation, which can be appreciated above all in the evolutionary course of this wine.
